Two days after the Supreme Court banned the sale of vehicles that are non BS-III compliant, two-wheeler dealers are offering major discounts in a bid to dispose off their remaining stocks.
The companies that are offering discounts include Honda, Hero MotoCorp, Suzuki Motorcycle and Bajaj Auto, as per a report in India Today.
With 6.71 lakh two-wheelers affected by the ban, dealers are trying to sell as many units as possible before the March 31 deadline and in the process are offering “unheard of discounts”, the report adds.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), is offering a cash back of Rs 22,000 on its BS-III scooters and motorcycles. This includes Activa 3G, Dream Yuga, CB Shine and CD 110DX.
Hero MotoCorp is offering Rs 12,500 discount on its BS-III models, including scooters Duet, Maestro Edge and motorcycles Glamour and Splendor.
Suzuki Motorcycle India has also announced offers on its scooters. The company is offering a rebate of Rs 4,000 plus a free helmet on its Let’s scooter and benefits of up to Rs 5,000 on Gixxer scooter, with exchange benefits of up to Rs 2,000.
Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto is offering discounts in the range of Rs 3,000 to Rs 12,000 along with free insurance for its entry level Platina to Pulsar RS200.
