CPI (M) leader and MP MB Rajesh has alleged that he received a threat call on Wednesday night, wherein the caller abused him for his Facebook post in support of Left student protesters at JNU.

“I received a call on my home land phone around 12 am. The person on the other end told me that he was calling from Gujarat and his name was Biju. Though he was well mannered when the conversation started, later he started abusing me over the Facebook post I wrote about JNU issue.  He abused my whole family and alleged that I support Pakistani terrorists,” Rajesh told The News Minute.

The MP says that though he disconnected the call, the person rang him four or five times.

“He was repeatedly ringing me and finally my wife picked the call and warned him that she will be filing a police complaint,” Rajesh said.

The CPI (M) leader said that when the phone number was traced, they came to know that the call was from Andhra Pradesh, and the number belonged to a person named Renjith Raveendran.

MB Rajesh said that he will be filing a complaint soon.

In his Facebook post, Rajesh had questioned BJP’s double standards and said that though the party has joined hands with PDP in Kashmir, which is a party that was against Afzal Guru’s capital punishment, the BJP looks at JNU students as anti-nationals.

“Some supporters of BJP mourn the death anniversary of Nathuram Godse and they celebrate the death anniversary of Gandhi, why are they not charged with sedition?” Rajesh had asked.

The MP made 10 such points to counter BJP and ABVP’s claims on the JNU issue.
