Drishya Raghunath is excited over the positive response the teaser of her upcoming release Matchbox is getting. Released recently online, the actor’s performance in it has been lauded.
Having acted in the movie Happy Wedding, Drishya won the hearts of the audiences though her role was not a big one. On her role in Matchbox, she was quoted by the Deccan Chronicle as saying, “I landed the role after director Shivaram Mani saw Happy Wedding and thought I would fit the part. I play the female lead and share the screen with Roshan Mathew and Vishak Nair both of Aanandam fame.”
In the same interview, she said, “We are done with the shooting, in fact, the entire movie was shot in about 28 days. What I am most excited about is that I got to be a part of Revathy Kalamandir, which is huge. My role in Happy Wedding was not a big one. I did not have a screen presence throughout, despite that, the fact that I got an offer like this is still a surprise for me. Moreover, I felt that this particular banner gives a lot of respect to female actors and it was a great experience. I could feel the professionalism in the kind of work they do. They made me feel like I am finally an actor. Even though comedy is the base of the movie, it touches every aspect of our life.”
Drishya revealed that she has put her heart and soul in to the project and it would be her best performance till date. She added that director Shivaram Mani’s dedication and zeal encouraged her to perform better. Drishya is hopeful that with the release of this film, she would carve a niche for herself in the film industry.
