The protests for bifurcation of Hyderabad High Court have reached Delhi. Telangana Advocate JAC and Bar council members called for a protest on Monday at Jantar Mantar. Close to 1500 advocates from 10 districts of Telangana are participating in the dharna.

Talking to The News Minute, Gopi Reddy Chandrashekar Reddy, Joint convener for Hyderabad High Court, said, “The advocate unions’ primary demands include bifurcation of High Court, suspension of Hyderabad Judges, 11 employees to be revoked and transfer of judicial officers who hail from Andhra Pradesh.”

While senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh inaugurated the dharna, TRS leaders K Kavitha, Vinod, Sitaram Nayak and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy attended the protests and supported the advocates.  Marri Shashidhar Reddy, Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar, Chenna Reddy from Congress and MLC Ramachandra Rao from BJP took part in the dharna. Though there was a downpour at the venue, the protesters continued the dharna by performing and singing Telangana cultural songs.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi, in a press release, said, “If Telangana is not given a separate High Court, the agitations will move from roads to Parliament. For the benefit of people of Telangana, we fought for a separate state and we will fight for a separate High Court as well. We ask the Union Law minister and Home minister, why Telangana is treated with partiality.”

Previously a delegation of the Telangana Advocates JAC called on Union Law Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda and Home Minister Rajnath Singh and explained to them the situation prevailing at Hyderabad High Court.
