Nagarjuna and his soon-to-be-daughter-in-law Samantha Ruth Prabhu are sharing the screen space in Raju Gari Gadhi 2, which is slated to hit the silver screens on October 13.

There was a buzz that Samantha had bagged the role on Nagarjuna’s recommendation but the latter has denied it vehemently. Stating that he never wanted her in the star cast, more particularly to play a ghost right before the marriage, Nagarjuna pointed out that she bagged the role on her own merit.

He has been quoted as saying, “People thought I wanted her to be cast. That’s not true. I didn’t recommend her. In fact, I didn’t want to see her play a ghost right before marriage.”

Directed by Ohmkar, Raju Gari Gadhi 2 is a horror comedy film that is produced by Prasad V Potluri under the banners PVP Cinema & Matinee Entertainments. The star cast of the film includes Nagarjuna Akkineni, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal in a special appearance, Seerat Kapoor, Ashwin Babu, Vennela Kishore, Shakalaka Shankar, Praveen, Naresh and Avinash.

The film is based on the Malayalam hit flick Pretham, which hit the silver screens last year. Ranjith Shankar had penned the story while Abburi Ravi had written the dialogues and Ohmkar had penned the screenplay.

While Raju Gari Gadhi 2 is gearing up for release on October 13, Samantha is getting ready to tie the knot with Naga Chaitanya, Nagarjuna’s son on October 6 in Goa.

The preparations for the wedding have been going on full swing with Samantha posting pictures from Goa with the hashtag #BrideVibes.

Speaking to reporters about the event, Akkineni Nagarjuna said, “I told both my boys that my duty of performing their wedding will be perfectly organised and so, I gave them the liberty of choosing their life partners. We feel fortunate to have Samantha as our daughter-in-law. The wedding is going to be performed according to both Hindu and Christian traditions. Only the immediate family members, from Akkineni, Daggubati and Samantha’s family, will be taking part in the wedding. After we are back to Hyderabad, a lavish reception will be held and the date will be announced soon.”
