Akshara Haasan, Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter, will don the hat of assistant director on the latter's upcoming film, Sabaash Naidu.
The trilingual project will be made simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. While the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film are titled ‘Sabaash Naidu’, the Hindi version will go by the name, ‘Sabaash Kundu’.
The film’s launch happened on Friday, where Kamal Haasan said that he had never expected to work with both his daughters on the same project.
In the action-comedy flick, Haasan will revive the character of Balram Naidu from the 2008 hit “Dasavatharam”. While Ramya Krishnan will be seen as his wife, Shruti Haasan will play the role of his daughter for the first time. Popular Telugu comedian Brahmanandam will play Kamal’s sidekick, Appa Rao, a character originally played by late dance master, Raghuram. The cast also includes Saurabh Shukla among a few other actors.
Renowned composer Maestro Illayaraja will collaborate with Haasan after a decade to compose the music for this film.
The film is set to release in the US on May 15 and worldwide on December 1, 2016.
