Rabble rousing BJP MLA from Hyderabad, Raja Singh has warned of burning theatres in Hyderabad if Padmavathi was released in the state without the clearance of the Rajput community heads.

Speaking at a Rajput community gathering here on Sunday in Hyderabad, the Goshamahal MLA, infamous for his hate speeches, said that he will teach a lesson to those who try to malign and demean the Hindu culture.

Provoking the Rajputs of Hyderabad, he said, “Across the country there are protests against the movie. But no one here is raising any objection to the film. Did our blood become cold?”

The BJP MLA also said, “If anyone burns down the theatre which shows Padmavatiji (the fictional queen) in poor light. I will take the responsibility of bailing out that person.”

Singh further stated, “Even I vow to burn the theatres if the film shows us (Hindus) in bad light and demeans our culture,” adding, “Besides, I want to warn the director (Sanjay Leela Bhansali): You are a dog, who wants to demean us and make money out of it.”

Addresing the gathering he said, “I am not diverting you. This is our culture. Protecting our culture is every Indian’s duty because our Rajas didn’t fight for themselves, but for safeguarding the nation,” he added.

Raja Singh said that the Rajputs in the city need to use social media and other means to organise themselves to stall the screening of the movie, slated to release on December 1.

Calling for a boycott of the film, he said, boycotting such movies is “every nationalist’s duty, every Hindu’s duty and every Rajput’s duty.”

“We will allow the screening of the movie if the filmmakers showcase the film to the Rajput community heads before its release and if they give clearance to it. If the movie is in favour of Kshatriyas, we will welcome it and ensure that it earns profits,” Singh said.
