A man in Andhra became a crorepati overnight after he got an SMS from his bank, stating that Rs 1.84 crore had been credited into his savings bank account.

According to reports, K Srinivasulu Naidu, a resident of Komatikuntla in Putlur mandal of Anantapur, had an account with the Andhra Bank branch in Tadipatri in Anantapur district.

While some reports suggested that he was a worker in a stone factory, others suggested that he was a farmer.

He had very little amount left in his account, and the message left him and his wife Syamala in shock.

Naidu is stated to have immediately called the bank officials several times, but to no avail, due to a bank holiday.

“We will meet bankers on Monday to freeze the transaction,” he told the Deccan Chronicle.

However, this is not an isolated incident.

The DC report adds that a cinema theatre operator had a similar experience two days ago in Anantapur, when his bank account was credited with Rs 1 crore.

Last week, an unidentified person deposited Rs 1.26 crore into the savings bank account of a daily worker, Pathan Nazeer, a resident of Amilepally village in Chittoor district, following which he was questioned by IT authorities, and later let off.
