TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy, infamous for creating a ruckus at the Vishakapatnam Airport, abruptly announced that he is resigning from his parliamentary position on Thursday.
Expressing dissatisfaction over his inability to do much for the welfare of people in his constituency, the Anantapur MP told mediapersons that he will soon meet the Lok Sabha Speaker and submit his resignation.
“My conscience hurts as I have been unable to do the things that people of my constituency wished for. So, I am resigning,” the MP said.
He, however, clarified that he will continue to remain in politics.
When pressed for the reason for this sudden decision, he said, “I failed in resolving the water issues and taking up road projects in my constituency.”
According to reports, the MP particularly expressed disappointment over failing to provide drinking water to Chagallu village and Tadipatri in Peddapappur Mandal.
Diwakar Reddy had made headlines in June, when he was caught on camera pushing around staff members of IndiGo airlines at the Visakhapatnam airport. The MP is also said to have damaged a printer. Following the incident, he was banned from flying by multiple domestic airlines. But the ban was later revoked though he did not offer an apology.
The MP, who is also a businessman and co-owner of Diwakar Travels, had also created a ruckus in October 2016 at the Gannavaram Airport in Vijayawada.
