Watch: Monkey steals Rs 10,000 from jewellery shop. trained thief?

The shopkeeper tried chasing the monkey but was unable to catch it

In a bizarre incident, a trained monkey was seen fleeing from a jewellery store with cash worth Rs 10,000 from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

The CCTV visuals of the trained monkey thief are doing the rounds on the internet. In the video, the monkey can be seen opening one of the drawers and scooting away with cash picked up from the drawer.

The shopkeeper tried chasing the monkey but was unable to catch it.  

‘’The monkey threw a guava inside the shop but we gave her back the guava. She took it back and started eating the guava but after sometime she left the guava and entered the shop. Everyone in the shop panicked. It went inside and sat on a chair for a few minutes. After some time, it slowly opened the drawer in the cash counter, I tried to chase her but it ran away with Rs 10,000 cash. We are still unable to understand why it came and took away the cash,’’ said the shopkeeper.
