YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy, who has resumed his padayatra on Saturday, alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu conspired to eliminate him and plotted the knife attack. He alleged that the attack was scripted in the month of March after his padayatra received an overwhelming response.
Addressing the gathering in Parvathipuram, Vizianagaram, as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, The New Indian Express quoted Jagan as saying, “Naidu can stoop to any low depths for political gains. He can even eliminate the Opposition leader. What is my fault? My fault is that I am exposing and fighting against his corrupt governance.”
This was his first meeting after the attack on him on October 25, where an employee, Srinivas, working at a coffee restaurant in Vizag airport, attacked him with a knife used in cock-fighting.
Jagan further claimed that the ‘Operation Garuda’, a conspiracy theory floated by actor Shivaji, was in fact scripted by Chandrababu Naidu. He said that the attack was planned in March when he took up the Special Category Status issue.
“On March 8, the TDP pulled out from the Union Cabinet and on March 22, it came up with the ‘Operation Garuda’ plot. The plot, though narrated by a cine actor, was in fact scripted by Naidu.”
As per the conspiracy theory of Operation Garuda, the BJP is planning to occupy the southern states. One part of the allegation is that the BJP will plan an attack on the Leader of Opposition, which will bring chaos and unrest in the state, thereby helping them to overthrow the government in Andhra Pradesh.
The YSRCP further said that the attack was planned in the airport so that the responsibility of security doesn’t fall on the state government, and if the plan fails, then they can claim that it is part of Operation Garuda.
Jagan charged that one hour before the attack, the DGP and Home Minister were ready with their ‘script’ that the accused was YSRCP supporter. After the attack, the police said that the attacker, Srinivas, was a supporter of Jagan. He alleged that the 10-page letter recovered from Srinivas bore different handwritings. He also raised the suspicion that the CRPF personnel couldn’t find any letter when they frisked him after the attack.
Jagan alleged that the owner of Fusion Foods restaurant, where Srinivas worked, belonged to a close aide to Chandrababu.
