Amazon India has a new product for your household, the Amazon Echo Flex plug-in smart speaker. The key feature in this device is it needs to be just plugged in, no need for any wires etc. It is a mini form of the Echo speaker with Alexa built in. The normal plug socket in your home is good enough to plug this in. It can respond to your regular Hey Alexa commands and can perform the functions the regular Echo speakers.

These include making hands-free calls to other Echo device users, play your favourite music and control the smart gadgets like lights etc.

The other interesting feature is that this Amazon Echo Flex can be used to charge your mobile phone through a USB-A type cord. The charger is rated up to 7.5W. Amazon claims they have developed this product after they received the feedback from their customers. The general sense was people were wondering where they may keep the Echo or Echo Dot speakers. The company simply solved this dilemma by releasing this Echo Flex speaker that does not require any space, just the plug socket.

If you are not happy with the audio level from this Echo Flex device, you can used the 3.5mm audio output jack on it to plug extra speaker of a larger size. While you can plug this new smart device in any room in your home or office ensure that your Wi-Fi connection is close enough for it to pick up the signals.

Amazon has started accepting pre-orders for the Amazon Echo Flex at a price of Rs 2,999. The shipments are expected to commence December 10. Amazon is also offering a free Wipro smart LED bulb (9W) worth Rs 2,099 on the purchase of every Echo Flex.
