All the phones are not being made available in the market simultaneously.

In what is seen as the global variants of its latest Galaxy J series smartphones, Samsung has released three new phones in the European market. The company had released a Galaxy J3 (2017) phone in the USA, but the design of that phone appears to be different from the one being introduced in Europe. This is expected to be the one for the international market and the US one might even be exclusive to AT&T.

There may be some common features among the three models, but there are differences as well. It is better to go one by one.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017)

This phone features a 5inch AMOLED HD display and is the smallest of the lot. Samsung has fitted its own octa-core Exynos 7570 processor with a clock speed of 1.4GHz. The RAM on this phone is 2GB and the internal memory is 16GB. A slot for a microSD card is provided to expand the phone’s overall storage. A 13MP rear camera and a smaller 5MP front camera manage the imaging functions. The battery fitted on the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) is a modest 2600mAh power source. The OS is the Android Nougat Version 7.0.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017)

The display here is 5.2inches in size but it is a full HD AMOLED display and the processor on this phone is a higher rated Exynos 7870, octa-core. The RAM is 2GB and the internal memory is 16GB and expandable up to 256Gb through a microSD card. These are some of the specs common to the J3 (2017) and the J5 (2017). When it comes to the battery, the Galaxy J5 (2017) has a larger 3000mAh battery. The OS is the same across all three models, the Android 7 Nougat. Similarly, the camera specs remain the same, 13MP and 5 MP in the rear and the front respectively.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017)

The largest phone among the three, the Galaxy J7 (2017) has a 5.5inch display. The CPU has been retained as in the J5, but the RAM has been increased to 3GB. A higher display resolution at 1080p also differentiates the two phones though the same AMOLED displays feature across the board. Also, the Android N has been loaded on all three phones in this 2017 J series iteration. Samsung’s custom UI can be seen riding on the Android OS on all three phones as well. A larger 3600mAh battery adorns the Galaxy J7. A splash resistance certification IP54 has been bestowed on this bigger phone and not on the other two. The front camera for selfies has also received a huge bump in the Galaxy J7 with a 13MP sensor equaling the main rear camera, which is also 13MP.

All the phones are not being made available in the market simultaneously. The J5 is the one that will be sold immediately, in June itself. The J7 will follow in July and the smallest J3 in August.
