It’s true - they really exit. Three new species of lizards, sporting scaly skin and crests like Godzilla have been discovered in Peru and Ecuador, highlighting the rich biodiversity of the area. This discovery came a week after Tokyo announced that the scaly monster was to be its tourism ambassador. The team of scientists who found the lizards in the tropical Andes region said that it was likely that there were even more reptiles waiting to be discovered. Omar Torres Carvajal and his team have found and classified three new species: Enyalioides altotambo, Enyalioides anisolepis and Enyalioides sophiarothschildae, reported phys.org.All three boast of striking colors and morphology, Omar said, pointing to their protruding scales, serrated crests and shiny backs. All of these three species are capable of growing up to about 40 centimeters (16 inches) long. #indotravelista Tiga Spesies 'Godzilla Mini' Ditemukan di Pedalaman Peru http://t.co/Gl8m4BbRGl #indotravellers pic.twitter.com/pzCXtDSoDo— Indonesia Travelista (@indotravelista) April 16, 2015
