The News Minute | October 6, 2014 | 09:59 am IST Google is said to be working on its own mobile messaging application in a bid to counter Facebook's WhatsApp. Google' messaging app, which is reported to be in its development stage, is likely to be unveiled in the first half of 2015. However, there has been no official confirmation on this from Google. The Economic Times states that before Facebook acquired Whatsapp, Google had made an unsuccessful bid to own the messaging application. And now Google is trying to gain foothold in the social sharing business. Google had recently sent its top product manager Nikhyl Singhal to India to gauge the potential of messaging apps in the country.
