At 65th Filmfare Awards (South), ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘Vikram Vedha’ win big

While 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' won 8 awards, both 'Vikram Vedha' and 'Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum' bagged four awards each.

The 65th Filmfare awards (South), held in Hyderabad on Saturday, was all glitz and glamour, with many celebrities from the four south Indian film industries in attendance.

In Tollywood, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion swept the awards, with eight honours. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the Baahubali 2 won him the award for Best Director. Vijay Devarakonda won the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for Arjun Reddy while Sai Pallavi won the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for Fidaa.

In Kollywood, Vikram Vedha bagged four awards, with Pushkar Gayatri winning the award for Best Director and Vijay Sethupathi bagging the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male). Nayanthara won the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for Aramm.

In Mollywood, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum won big, bagging four out of the 12 honours. For the film, Dileesh Pothan won the award for Best Director and Fahadh Faasil for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male). Parvathy won the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for Take Off.

In Sandalwood, Tarun Sudhir won the award for Best Director for Chowka. Puneet Rajkumar bagged the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for Rajakumara. Shruthi Hariharan won the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for Beautiful Manasugalu.
