The film released in Tamil on January 10 and has already grossed over Rs 155 crore worldwide.

Viswasam missed simultaneous release dates in Telugu in January as Tollywood had three major movie releases during the month. Ram Charan’s Vinaya Vidheya Rama, Venkatesh and Varun Tej’s F2 and the first part of the NTR biopic, NTR Kathanayakudu, were confirmed Sankranthi releases and hence the chances of Viswasam faring well at the box-office were slim.

The dubbing rights of Viswasam are valued at Rs 2.75 crore. It remains to be seen how well the movie fares in both the Telugu states as Viswasam is already out on Amazon Prime.

Viswasam is a family entertainer which is set in the backdrop of a village called Koduvilarpatti in Theni district. Ajith plays Thukku Durai, a local don, and speaks in the Madurai dialect. Viswasam is Ajith’s next after Vivegam in 2017.The movie marks the fourth consecutive collaboration of director Siva and Ajith.
