Pictures of actor Ajith visiting the sets of the Malayalam movie Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham have gone viral on social media.
Ajith, who is now busy shooting for his movie, the Tamil remake of Pink, in Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad, dropped by the sets of the Mohanlal-starrer Marakkar since that movie is also being filmed inside the film city. Photos of Ajith with veteran Malayalam filmmaker Priyadarshan in which the two men seem to be sharing a light moment are doing the rounds on social media.
Pink’s remake is helmed by H Vinoth of Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru fame.The project also marks Boney Kapoor’s debut as a producer in Kollywood.
Kannada star Kiccha Sudeep was also recently spotted at the sets of Marakkar at Ramoji Rao Film City.The stills from the sets have gone viral and has led to speculations that Sudeep is a part of the magnum opus. Though initially it was said that Sudeep was indeed a part of the film, it was denied later. However, if the buzz is true, Kichcha Sudeep is the latest entrant into the crew, also marking his Mollywood debut.
Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham will be made on a budget of Rs 100 crore and will be produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T Kuruvilla and CJ Roy under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment. The film is based on the true life of Kunjali Marakkar IV, who is the most popular of the Marakkars. It will have extensive sea warfare sequences which will be its highlight.
Directed by veteran director Priyadarshan, the film also has Prabhu, Suniel Shetty, Manju Warrier, Arjun Sarja, Mukesh and Keerthy Suresh in pivotal roles. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Tirru and editor MS Ayyappan Nair. It is expected that the shooting of this movie will be completed by March or April this year. However, the post production of this movie will take around six months due to the large amount of visual effects involved. The Los Angeles-based Anibrain VFX and Creative Studio will be handling the visual effects for this magnum opus.
