The latest buzz in the Kollywood grapevine is that Hollywood actor Al Pacino, known for his work in films like “Scarface” and “A Dog Day Afternoon”, has been approached for a pivotal role in Dhanush's next with Karthik Subbaraj.

Although the makers of the film haven't officially commented on the reports, reliable sources did not deny the rumours. While the makers may have considered Al Pacino for the role, however, the actor has not been signed on yet.

"The makers have initiated talks. However, nothing can be confirmed yet as a call has to be taken by Pacino himself on whether he should be a part of the project or not. The film will be predominantly shot in the US, and if Pacino comes on board, most of his portion will be shot there itself. The makers had even considered Morgan Freeman initially," a source said.

The project marks the first collaboration between Karthik and Dhanush, and will go on the floors later this year. The rest of the cast and crew will be finalised soon.
