The Kannada film The Villain is scheduled for release on October 18 amidst a lot of expectations. The film has two top stars from Sandalwood – Shiva Rajkumar and Kiccha Sudeep – sharing screen space for the first time. Not only that, actor Amy Jackson is making her debut in Kannada films.

The promos of The Villain are happening with its lead stars participating in all the events, but Amy Jackson’s absence has not gone down too well with its makers. The heroine was the cynosure of all eyes at the music launch event in Dubai but she has not been a part of any other promotional event, including the teaser launch that happened later. According to sources, all efforts to get in touch with the actor were futile, which means that she may not be available to promote the film further. This seems to have irked The Villain’s makers.

The Villain, written and directed by Prem, is produced by CR Manohar under his banner Tanvi – Shanvi Films. Made on a high budget, the star cast also includes Mithun Chakraborty, Mukul Dev, Srikanth, Sruthi Hariharan and Radhika Chetan. Arjun Janya is the music composer for this flick while Girish R Gowda has cranked the camera and Prakash Irbail has edited it.

A high budget movie that has been shot abroad, reports say the film will be a visual treat for movie buffs. We also hear that the film has been made on a huge budget, a big portion of which has been allocated for the graphics work. One of the most anticipated releases this season, The Villain’s release date has been set to cash in on the Dussehra festival holidays. Reports from trade circles indicate that the film will be released in a record number of theatres in India.

The Villain was launched in 2015 by the then chief minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, and the first look of the film was released in March 2017.

It may be noted here that Amy Jackson is also a part of another magnum opus, 2.0. Directed by Shankar, this film has Rajinikanth playing the lead role. 2.0 is scheduled for release in November this year.
