Rumours have been spreading like wildfire about the collaboration of writer-filmmaker Mouli and Kamal Haasan for an as yet untitled project, to be bankrolled by AVM Productions. However, reliable sources have denied the reports as baseless rumour.

Although Mouli had met Kamal a few months ago, it was nothing more than a courtesy call. Some reports claimed that the film is an out-and-out comedy and it has been titled Meyappan.

“It’s true that both of them had met but it was a very friendly meet. Although they have been in discussion for a project for a long time, unfortunately, nothing has been firmed up. Kamal sir wants to finish Sabash Naidu first and then take a call on his next project,” the source said.

From the last week of December, Kamal, who is recovering from a leg injury, is expected to resume work on Sabash Naidu, a trilingual on the spin-off of Balram Naidu character from Dasavatharam. Being directed by Kamal himself, the film also stars Shruti Haasan, Ramya Krishnan and Brahmanandam.
