Based on rave response, ‘Pariyerum Perumal’ gets more shows in TN

‘Pariyerum Perumal’ opened to critical acclaim and seeing how good the audience response has been, theatres are now increasing the number of shows screened.

Films these days have to make a killing on their opening weekend, otherwise they get removed from theatres within a week. The first three days after the film’s release can determine whether it will be successful or not to a large extent. In some cases, films pick up, thanks to good word of mouth publicity. However, it is rare for theatres to increase the number of shows based on sheer demand from the public.

Director Mari Selvaraj’s Pariyerum Perumal that was released on September 28 and opened to limited shows in the state. However, theatres across the state are increasing the number of shows due to the good response the film is getting. 

Produced by director Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Production, the request to increase the number of screens began soon after its release. Following this, Pa Ranjith had tweeted that the team’s working towards increasing the number of shows based on its demand. The film is currently being screened in 121 theatres across Tamil Nadu. 

Soon after, SR Prabhu, Treasurer of Tamil Film Producers Council tweeted that a few films like Aruvi and Managaram have seen an increase in shows in the past based on the good response from the audience.

The film’s overwhelming response has taken it to other countries as well. 

Pariyerum Perumal is Mari Selvaraj’s directorial debut starring Kathir, Anandhi and Yogi Babu in the lead. The film’s music has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan and the cinematography is by Sridhar.
