Actor Varalaxmi Sarathkumar will be playing a biker in her upcoming Tamil film Chasing, which went on the floors in Malaysia on Tamil New Year’s day on Sunday. Varalaxmi took to Twitter to share the first look poster, adding that the shooting for the film was currently progressing in Malaysia. The film, directed by Veerakumar, also stars Yamuna Chinnadurai, Bala, Jerrold and Swiss Raghu. In the first look poster, Varalaxmi is seen riding a sports bike and sporting a red blazer and aviators.

The actor recently announced her Telugu debut, Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL. Touted to be a complete comedy entertainer, the film stars Sundeep Kishan and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles and is directed by G Nageswara Reddy. The principal shooting for the film commenced recently and is expected to be wrapped up in two or three schedules. The film will hit the silver screens soon.

Varalaxmi has already started working on another Tamil project, titled Kannitheevu, a multi-starrer project with an all-female cast, featuring Aishwarya Dutta of Bigg Boss fame, Ashna Zaveri and Subiksha in the lead roles. Apparently, Kannitheevu is a crime thriller and has no connection to the classic tale, and the story does not take place on an island either, sources say. The makers are currently in the process of finalising the antagonist.

Last year, Varalaxmi was seen in two big ticket projects, Sandakozhi 2 and Sarkar, and in both films, she played negative roles. Her last release Maari 2, in which she was seen in a different role, was well appreciated by critics. This year, the actor has nearly half a dozen projects in her kitty. Her next release will be Velvet Nagaram, in which she plays a journalist. She also has Neeya 2 with Raai Laxmi, and Danny, Kanni Raasi and Kaatteri in the offing.
