D Imman roped in for Rajinikanth's 'Thalaivar 168' with director Siva

Sun Pictures, the film's producer, has formally announced the news on Twitter.

It was recently announced that Veeram and Viswasam fame Siva will direct superstar Rajinikanth in his next film, which is currently dubbed Thalaivar 168. Sun Pictures will bankroll the project which will go on the floors soon.

Now the markers have announced it officially that D Imman has been roped in to compose music for this yet-untitled project and this will be his second collaboration with Siva after Viswasam, which was a chartbusting album.

Sun Pictures, the film's producer, has formally announced the news on Twitter. "We are happy to announce that for the first time @immancomposer will be the music director for Superstar @rajinikanth 's movie #Thalaivar168 @directorsiva #ImmanForThalaivar168. [sic]" the production house tweeted.

D Imman too shared his joy of working with Rajinikanth for the first time on Twitter and posted, "Immense Joy to score Music for #Thalaivar168 ! With God's Magnificent Grace and with all your blessings will give my best! It's an honour to work with @sunpictures and My dearest @directorsiva Sir once again,Post #NammaVeettuPillai and #Viswasam! #ImmanForThalaivar168 Praise God! [sic]"

The industry grapevine is that the film would be a rural entertainer with trademark Rajinikanth's elements. Jyothika and Keerthy Suresh are the frontrunners to be playing the female leads and an pfficial confirmeation is awaited on the same.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth currently awaits the release of AR Murugadoss directed Darbar, which also stars Nayanthara, Sunil Shetty, Pratiek Babbar, Nivetha Thomas and Yogi Babu in key roles. The film marks the return of Rajinikanth in the role of a cop after 25 years since he donned the khaki in Pandian. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander and is gearing up for Pongal 2020 release.
