Darshan’s ‘Kurukshetra’ audio launch and release date finalised

Kurukshetra is one of the most expected films in the Kannada film industry. Starring Darshan in the lead role, it has a bevy of stars in the cast. Also, this historical is made on a high budget. So, naturally, expectations are high on its release date. Incidentally, its release was postponed several times earlier due to delay in post-production. According to reports, the audio launch of Kurukshetra is bound to happen on July 7 and its release is planned to be on August 9.

When Kurukshetra went on to the floors several months ago, it was announced that it would be Darshan’s 50th film. The star plays Duryodhana in this historical based on the epic Mahabharata and the story is told from his perspective. One of the most expensive films to be ever made in the Kannada film industry, Kurukshetra is bankrolled by Muniratna under his banner KCN Movies. The film also has Ambareesh, Arjun Sarja, V. Ravichandran, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Sneha, Hariprriya, Meghana Raj and P. Ravi Shankar in pivotal roles. The shooting of this film was long over and has been in the post-production mode due to extensive VFX works involved.

Kurukshetra, which is directed by Naganna, has an impressive technical crew as well. Jayanan Vincent has cranked the camera for this film with Jo Ni Harsha doing the editing. Being a high budget film and a historical, plans are on to release it in various languages including Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, etc.

The shooting of Kurukshetra commenced last year on the sets erected for the purpose at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Most parts of the film were shot on this set which was built on a budget of several crores of rupees.
