Darshan’s next is titled ‘Odeya’

To be directed by MD Sridhar, the film is reportedly a remake of the Tamil film ‘Veeram’, which featured Ajith in the lead role.

Darshan’s 50th film Kurukshetra is yet to hit the silver screens and the star has inked deals to star in two films. While his Yajamana, directed by Pon Kumar, is progressing rapidly, there is news about his 52nd film.

Titled Odeya, the film was launched in Mysuru recently much to the delight of Darshan’s fans. Odeya will be directed by MD Sridhar. According to reports, it will be a remake of the Tamil film Veeram, which had featured Ajith in the lead role. Earlier, the film was titled Wodeyar but it was eventually changed to Odeya to avoid any controversies. The film will be bankrolled by Darshan’s close friend Sandesh Nagraj under the banner Sandesh Productions.

While fans await the release of Kurukshetra, Yajamana and Odeya in theatres this year, Inspector Vikram, in which Darshan plays a cameo role, is also in the pipeline for release. Reports say that Darshan plays the role of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in it. The star had joined the sets earlier this month and has shot for his portions for a week. He wrapped up the shooting of his portions a couple of weeks ago.

Prajwal Devaraj and Bhavana play the leads in Inspector Vikram, which has Ramesh Aravind in the role of the villain. The technical crew of the film comprises Anoop Seelin for music, Naveen Kumar for cinematography and Sathish and Sreenivas for art direction.

Darshan, meanwhile, is waiting for the release of his 50th film, Kurukshetra. The star plays Duryodhana in this historical based on the epic Mahabharata and the story is told from his perspective. Fans are expecting the release of Kurukshetra soon. Touted to be the most expensive film ever to be made in Sandalwood, it has a bevy of stars in the cast including Ambareesh, Arjun Sarja, Nikhil Kumar and others.
