Director Rajamouli opens up about 'Bharat And Nenu'

The movie is a political thriller and has Mahesh Babu playing the Chief Minister for the first time in his career.

Ace director SS Rajamouli is one of the few celebs to post his thoughts about the new releases on the day of its release. So, when the Mahesh Babu starrer Bharat Ane Nenu hit the silver screens yesterday, April 20th, film buffs waited eagerly to know what he had to say and the director didn’t disappoint them. He did post his thoughts about Bharat Ane Nenu on Twitter and it goes like this: “Raising issues like Local Governance in a commercial film requires a lot of thought. Truly appreciate Koratala Siva garu and Mahesh for their conviction. Mahesh delivered his best performance. Casting is very good. Everyone fit in perfectly. Congratulations Danayya garu and the team of #BharatAneNenu.” On his favorite scene in the film, he posted, “Press meet scene is the best amongst many good moments in #BharatAneNenu.”

The movie released this week in cinemas and has had a good run so far, earning praise from critics and audiences alike. It is reported to have crossed Rs 55 crore worldwide. According to reports, the movie has collected  Rs 31.9 crore in the Telugu speaking states which also marks Mahesh Babu’s biggest opening to date. And in Tamil Nadu  it has collected Rs 78 lakhs gross.

Written and directed by Koratala Siva, the film has been bankrolled by DVV Danayya under his banner DVV Entertainments on a budget of Rs. 70 crores. Bharat Ane Nenu, a political thriller, has Mahesh Babu playing the chief minister role for the first time in his career and it has gone well with the audiences. Paired up with Mahesh Babu is Kiara Advani who is making her debut in the Telugu film industry. The others in the star cast include Prakash Raj, R. Sarathkumar, Devaraj, Aamani, Sithara and Posani Krishna Murali.

Devi Sri Prasad had composed music for this venture with Ravi K Chandran being the cinematographer and A Sreekar Prasad editing it.

Bharat Ane Nenu opened to positive reviews on April 20th and is well on its way to being declared a blockbuster hit.
