The granddaughter of the late Kannada superstar, Dr Rajkumar is all set to make her acting debut soon. Dhanya Ramkumar will be following in the footsteps of her grandfather and uncles by donning the greasepaint. It may be noted that she is the daughter of Dr Rajkumar’s daughter Poornima Rajkumar and will be the first woman from the Rajkumar family to act.

Her debut film will be a rom-com that will be directed by Suman Jadugar. The director had worked as an assistant director in several films including Kamal Haasan’s Uttama Villain. Dhanya will be paired opposite Suraj Gowda in this entertainer that has been titled Ninna Sanihake. 

Speaking about her acting debut, Dhanya had told in an interview much earlier, “It was the story that clinched it for me. When I heard the narration, I could picturise myself doing that role. Even my mother, whose words I consider most sacrosanct, could see me in the role. Apart from this, the team was a lot more passionate and driven, compared to the others I have met, which led me to say yes to the film.” 

Ninna Sanihake’s technical crew includes Raghu Dixit to compose the tunes. The groundwork for this project is currently on and it will go on the floors next month as planned, confirm sources.

On a connecting note, we need to mention that Dhanya’s brother Dheeran is also set to debut this year. His debut film is titled Daari Tappida Maga.
