First look of Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's 'Velvet Nagaram' unveiled

The poster of actor Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's Velvet Nagaram was unveiled in Tamil and English on Twitter by Vijay Sethupathi. 

The film marks the debut of director Manoj Kumar. The plot reportedly revolves around a true incident that happened in Kodaikanal, 8 years ago.

The Podaa Podi star plays the role of Usha, a journalist, in this psychological thriller.

Manoj, in an interview with Deccan Chronicle said, “The story revolves around the heroine. Varalaxmi portrays the central character who comes to the city to investigate the atrocities meted out to Adivasis belonging to Kodaikanal. The subsequent predicament she faces and how intelligently the truth is revealed form the crux."

The movie is bankrolled by Makers Studio. The film also stars Ramesh Tilak and Maalivika Sundar. The music has been composed by Achu Rajamani.

Varalaxmi has two upcoming biggies this year. One with Vijay which is still untitled and the other is Balaji Mohan's Maari 2. The film's poster has been appreciated by many on Twitter.
