Over the last couple of days, reports suggested that filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon has been roped in to play the antagonist in Imaikaa Nodigal, which stars Atharvaa and Nayanthara. While a section of the audience felt it would be interesting to see Gautham play a baddie, the film’s director Ajay Gnanamuthu, who earlier made Demonte Colony, denied the news as baseless rumours.

“I don’t know who started these rumours. I have about 10 actors in my mind and Gautham is one among them. However, we haven’t approached him yet. No one has been confirmed for that part as of now,” Ajay told Deccan Chronicle, and added, “Even before we decide on something, these reports are surfacing. These speculations only spoil the relationships between people.”

He also clarified that Atharvaa and Nayanthara are not paired together and that they’re on the lookout for an actress to play the leading lady. Nayanthara is rumoured to be playing a cop. Produced by Cameo Films, the film is tipped to go on the floors next year.
