Directed by Dinesh, the film stars Vikram Prabhu, Hansika Motwani, MS Baskar and Vela Ramamoorthy. The one-minute teaser is packed with back-to-back action and chase sequences.

The trailer has been receiving appreciation from all quarters of the film industry. From Siddharth to Dulquer Salmaan, film personalities took to Twitter to congratulate the team.

Vikram, who is seen sporting a beard in this film, has been receiving praises for his new look as well.

Going by the teaser and the number of shooting sequences, it is evident that Vikram plays a cop, probably even an encounter specialist as several media reports suggest.

Hansika plays the love interest of Vikram in the movie.

Rasamathi is the cinematographer, while Bhuvan Srinivasan has edited the film. Thuppakki Munai is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu’s V Creations, which produced Vikram’s previous films, 60 Vayadhu Maaniram and Arima Nambi.

In 2015, director Dinesh had released a film titled Naalu Peruku Nalladhuna Edhuvum Thappilla starring television actor Karthik, Shariya and Evan Shri. Anirudh Ravichander had sung a promo song for this heist film. Dinesh had crowdfunded this film and was produced by Alpha Studios.

Vikram Prabhu was last seen in 60 Vayadhu Maaniram alongside Prakash Raj. Directed by Radha Mohan, the film was the Tamil remake of the Kannada film Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu. The entire shoot of the film was wrapped up in 36 days in and around Chennai.

The actor is currently working on Asura Guru, directed by A Rajdeep. Hansika was last seen in Gulebagavali alongside Prabhu Deva.
