According to a report by Times of India, the team spotted her in Azerbaijan, and decided to rope her in as she fit the bill of her character.

“Elnaaz has done several ad films for top brands in the country. She became a household name, thanks to her performance, especially in dual roles, in a popular Hindi series. Soon after, she was flooded with offers from the south and now, she’s set to make her debut in Kollywood with Jayam Ravi’s film. She was spotted with the team in Azerbaijan, where Ravi and Taapsee are shooting. Since the film is high on action, Elnaaz has been training for it,” a source was quoted in the report.

Meanwhile, Jayam Ravi’s Comali has struck gold at the box-office. It has grossed over Rs 35 crore worldwide and still runs to packed houses everywhere. The story was centered on Ravi’s character who wakes up after 16 years of coma and comes to term with his life while dealing with culture shock.

Reports have already started doing the rounds that the film will soon be remade in Telugu and actor Nithiin might reprise Ravi’s character. Ravi also has a film with his brother Mohan Raja in the offing. Rumored to be a sequel to Thani Oruvan, the film is expected to go on the floors next year.
