Kannada actor Dhruva Sarja’s upcoming film Pogaru is currently being helmed by Nanda Kishore. Touted to be a complete mass entertainer, the film’s shooting is expected to begin later this month. According to reports doing rounds, the shooting of this film was scheduled to start much earlier but had to be postponed with the lead star Dhruva Sarja requiring more time to work on his fitness as the story so demands.

And now, an interesting update about Pogaru is the inclusion of Tollywood actor Jagapathi Babu in the star cast. The actor, who is one of the best villains in the south Indian film circuit right now, has been signed up to play a menacing villain in the film.

Pogaru will also have Ravi Shankar play a vital role in it. However, the team is yet to find a suitable heroine to play Dhruva’s lead pair. Discussions are on with some leading ladies and deal is expected to be signed through soon. The technical crew of Pogaru has Arjun Janya for music and Vaidhi for cinematography. The film is scheduled for release later this year.

Jagapathi Babu is not a new face to the Kannada film industry as he made his debut with the Sudeep starrer Bachchan way back in 2013 and was then seen in Nikhil Kumar’s Jaguar. He is currently sharing the screen space with Upendra in Uppi Rupee, which is scheduled for release this year.

Besides films in Kannada, he also has a couple of Malayalam films in his kitty including the Mohanlal starrer Odiyan. Jagapathi Babu has also inked a deal to star in mega star Chiranjeevi’s ambitious project Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, a Telugu biopic on the legendary freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
