Pattabhiraman, a Malayalam film with actor Jayaram in the lead and directed by Kannada Thamarakulam has released on August 23.

The first look poster of this film was released last month, featuring Jayaram along with Baiju, Dharmajan, Sheelu Abraham, Hareesh Kanaran, Miya George, Ramesh Pisharody and Prem Kumar in the background. There are four heroines in the movie including Miya. The others are Shamna Kasim, Parvathy Nambiar and Sheelu Abraham

Dinesh Pallath has scripted the film, which is about an upright government official trying to expose the baddies. Abraham Mathew is bankrolling the project under his banner Abaam Movies. The film is touted to be a fun entertainer that will also have a social message for the audience. Speaking to the Times of India about Jayaram’s character in Pattabhiraman, director Kannan Thamarakkullam has said earlier, “He plays a government employee. The story starts with him buying a plot in the capital city and arriving there to settle down. His journey and struggles complete the film, which will also reveal some shocking truths about how contemporary politics also has a commercial side to it.”

The roles of other characters in the film have been unveiled and we hear that Nandhu will be seen as Raman Nair and Dharmarajan as police officer Sunilmon. On his role, Jayaram wrote on his social media handle, “He will make you laugh out loud. Guaranteed!”

The film has been shot in various places including Thiruvananthapuram, Munnar and Tirunelveli.

Kannan Thamarakkullam and Jayaram have teamed up for three films before this -- Thinkal Muthal Velli VareAadupuliyattam and Achayans.

Jayaram’s last release was Marconi Mathai, which marked the debut of Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi in Malayalam. Jayaram played an ex-army man who works as a security guard in a bank.
