Jayasurya sings for Guinness Pakru in ‘Ilayaraja’

While Jayasurya has sung several times before, it is the first time that he is doing it for another actor in a film.

The teaser of a song from the Guinness Pakru starrer Ilayaraja is out and garnering attention. So, what is special about this song? Well, it is actor Jayasurya who has rendered it. Though Jayasurya has sung several songs in his career, this is the first time that he is doing it for another actor. Ratheesh Vega has composed music for this song for which the lyrics have been penned by Santhosh Varma.

The director of Ilayaraja is Madhav Ramdasan who has earlier directed Apothecary and Melvilasom. Madhav Ramadasan has penned the movie’s story while the screenplay and dialogues are by Sudeep T George. Guinness Pakru, whose real name is Ajaykumar, plays the lead role named Vanajan and Gokul Suresh makes a cameo appearance as Bryan.

Actors Deepak Parambol, Harisree Ashokan, Kavitha Nair, Anil Nedumangad, Baby Ardra, Master Adhithyan, Jayaraj Warrier, Alphy Panjikaran, and Binish Babu play supporting roles. Pappinu is the cinematographer and Sreenivasa Krishna takes charge as the editor.

Ilayaraja will be presented by Movie Musical Cutz jointly with Mumbai Cine Talkies. It is produced by Sajith Krishna, Jayaraj T Krishnan and Binish Babu. The film is gearing up for release soon and the exact date is expected to be out shortly.

Guinness Pakru made his acting debut with the Malayalam film Ambili Ammavan in 1985 and has acted in a number of films including Joker, Athbhutha Dweepu, Kilukkam Kilukilukkam, Ee Pattanathil Bhootham, Bodyguard, Ring Master, My Big Father and Punyalan Private Limited. He has also acted in Tamil films such as Dishyum and 7aam Arivu. In 2013, Guinness Pakru turned director with his maiden venture Kuttiyum Kolum which featured him in the lead role with Munna, Adithya Ayota, Sanusha, Vijaya Raghavan and Ponnama Babu playing other characters. He made an entry into the Guinness World Records for being the shortest actor to play a character in a full length film.
