Rachita Ram, who made her acting debut with the Kannada movie Bulbul in 2013, is all set to spread her wings far and wide.

Prior to her entry in cinema, she appeared in the Kannada television soap Arasi. Having acted in a number of Kannada movies, she will now be entering the Telugu film industry with the remake of the hit Kannada movie Chamak.

Chamak was a smash hit that starred Ganesh and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. The film was directed by Suni and bankrolled by TR Chandrashekar under his banner Crystal Park Cinemas. Written by Suni, Abhishek Savalagi and Venkatesh Sharma, the film released to packed houses late last year and is still holding good at a few centres. Judah Sandhy had composed music for this venture with Santhosh Rai Pathaje cranking the camera and Manu Shedgar editing it.

In the Telugu version, Nani will be reprising the role done by Ganesh while Rachitha Ram will be stepping into the shoes of Rashmika Mandanna. TR Chandrasekar will be bankrolling the Telugu version of the film as well. Details about the director who will be wielding the megaphone for the remake will be divulged in a few weeks.

Rachita’s last release was Bharjari, which released last year; she also has a slew of Kannada movies in her kitty, including Ayogya, Uppi Rupee, Seetharama Kalyana and Johnny Johnny Yes Papa. Nani, on the other hand, is expecting the release of Krishnarjuna Yudham on April 12 and is giving the finishing touches to the project. Apart from this film, he had two untitled films, of which one is a Kishore Tirumala directorial and the other is a multi-starrer that includes Nagarjuna.

With reports that Nani and Rachita will be sharing screen space in the remake of Chamak, a rom com, we await more details to surface soon.
