Karunas to quit as vice-president of Nadigar Sangam

Actor turned MLA Karunas who is also the vice-president of Nadigar Sangam has indicated he might resign from his Nadigar Sangam post very soon.

After tasting success in the Nadigar Sangam elections, Karunas met TN CM Jayalalithaa and pledged his support to AIADMK on behalf of the Mukkulathor Pullippadai group for the recently held assembly election.

Following this, he was offered a seat in the Thiruvadanai constituency belonging to Ramanathapuram district from where he won the elections with a huge margin.

In a recent interview to Tamil Daily Dinamalar, Karunas indicated that he might resign his Vice President post very soon. "As soon as we assumed office, we have collected all data pertaining to the artistes with it we are trying to solve their long pending issues. We have also collected the money required to build the Nadigar Sangam building and we are waiting for AMMA to inaugurate it. Now most of the issues have been solved and I might quit my Vice President post soon, since I am busy as an MLA and as an actor.”

Taking about his movie career, he said, “I am awaiting the release of Santhanam's Dhilluku Dhuddu this week. I have completed shooting for Dhanush's political satire, Kodi. Also, doing an important role in Dhanush-Vetrimaran's much-awaited Vada Chennai.”
