Karuthavanlam Galeejam song from ‘Velaikaran’ celebrates the working class

A single from the Velaikaran album, Karuthavanlam Galeejam, is turning out to be a big hit. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the kuthu number has been sung by him as well. Viveka has penned the lyrics for this song which is fast turning out to be a chartbuster for its fast beats. The song is touted to be in Anirudh’s signature style and his fans will surely love it. On listening to the song, it is evident that it has been penned with the intent to celebrate the working class and their contribution towards the development of the city. Incidentally, the film is about a slum-dweller raising his voice against food adulteration.

Velaikaran, directed by Mohan Raja aka Jayam Raja, has Siva Karthikeyan and Nayanthara playing the lead pair. Incidentally, it will mark the Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil’s debut in the Tamil film industry and he will be dubbing for himself. The rest of the star cast includes Sneha, Prakash Raj, RJ Balaji, Sathish, Robo Shankar, Thambi Ramaiah, Vijay Vasanth, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Rohini, Yogi Babu and Charlie.

The two posters of the film released earlier have created a high level of expectation for Velaikaran and now this song has upped it even further.

Written jointly by Mohan Raja and Subha, the film has been directed by the former and produced by RD Raja under the banner 24AM Studios. It is touted to hit the silver screens on September 29 to cash in on the Dusshera weekend. The technical crew of Velaikaran includes Anirudh Ravichander for music, Ramji for cinematography and Vivek Harshan for editing.

Starring one of the most bankable stars in the Tamil film industry, Siva Karthikeyan, its pre-release business has been going good. Reports are that its satellite rights have been sold to Vijay TV for a huge price.
