'Mahavir Karna' production delayed: Vikram focuses on releasing son's 'Adithya Varma' first?

According to the latest buzz, Vikram is concentrating on his son’s debut film 'Adithya Varma' and is keen on having it released this year.

It was announced several months ago that Vikram will be playing the title role in the historical Mahavir Karna. But there is has been no news about it untill now. Even a few weeks ago, some sources had claimed that the star was at one of the discussions held by the team. However, developments on this have not beem reported since.

According to the latest buzz, Vikram is concentrating on his son’s debut film Adithya Varma and is keen on having it released this year. Incidentally, the film was shot as Varma by director Bala but the project was scrapped soon after the entire shooting was wrapped up.

This has put RS Vimal, the director of Mahavir Karna in a fix. It may be noted here that it is a high budget movie that will be made in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil simultaneously with plans on to release its dubbed versions in other languages.

Reports are that this film will have an ensemble of stars in the cast from different film industries in India and abroad. According to sources in the know, Malayalam star Suresh Gopi has been roped in to play an important role in Mahavir Karna.

In fact, the star was present at the inaugural pooja of the film at the Shri Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Kerala. Incidentally, Vikram and Suresh Gopi had shared the screen space in the Shankar directorial I a few years ago and Mahavir Karna will be their second outing together.

Mahavir Karna is a high budget movie that will be bankrolled by United Film Kingdom on a budget of Rs 300 crores. This high budget movie will be directed by RS Vimal with the technical crew including Shameer Mohammad for editing.

With the shooting yet to take off, we need to wait for an official confirmation on this.
