AR Murugadoss and Mahesh Babu have teamed up for the first time in upcoming bilingual spy thriller Spyder. The film happens to be one of the most anticipated releases of this year and its makers on Sunday confirmed that it will hit the screens worldwide on September 29, as opposed to the original plan to release it in August. It has also been confirmed that the first teaser will be released on May 31 at 5pm and it’s sure going to be a treat for Mahesh Babu’s fans. Rakul Preet Singh plays Mahesh’s love interest in the film.

Produced by NVR Cinemas and Tagore Madhu, Spyder is nearing the final leg of shooting as the makers are wrapping up the climax portion in Chennai. Meanwhile, the promotional activities have already begun with Mahesh Babu appearing on the cover page of esteemed Tamil magazine Vikatan last month and industry pundits believe this is the first time a Telugu actor has featured on the cover of the prestigious magazine.

Well-known actor-filmmaker SJ Suryah is playing the antagonist, while 'Kadhal' Bharath plays an important role in the movie, which has music composed by Harris Jayaraj. The movie also marks the Telugu debut of ace cinematographer Santhosh Sivan.

Tipped to be made on a budget of Rs 95 crore, the film features high-octane action. Apparently, Mahesh Babu has performed several of the stunts sans a body double as he wanted everything to look as authentic as possible.
