With one announcement after another coming in every day on Thalapathy 64 - Vijay’s next with director Lokesh Kanagaraj - expectations are riding high for this film. The latest star to be brought on board this film is Malayalam actor Antony Varghese. This film will mark his Tamil debut.

Antony Varghese of Angamaly Diaries-fame is also a part of critically acclaimed director Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Malayalam movie, Jallikattu.

Antony Varghese, who won several awards, including Filmfare Awards South, for his first film, Angamaly Diaries, also has Aanapparambile Worldcup with director Nikhil Premraj in the pipeline.

In Jallikattu, Antony Varghese plays one of the lead characters, along with Chemban Vinod and Santhy Balachandran. The most-awaited film is gearing up for release this Friday. Jallikattu is loosely based on a story written by S Hareesh, the writer who had been mired in controversy earlier for a novel called Meesha, which was serialised in a magazine. The music of the film is by Prashant Pillai, who, like Chemban Vinod, is a constant in every movie by Lijo.

It was only on Monday that the Thalaparthy 64 team confirmed that Vijay Sethupathi was also part of the film’s crew. The news was received with great cheer by both Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi fans.

Vijay currently awaits the release of Bigil by director Atlee. The film, which is gearing up for release this Deepavali, sees him playing the role of a football coach of a women’s team. The film, which has been produced by AGS Entertainment, was officially launched last November in Chennai.

Vijay Sethupathi, on the other hand, has nearly half a dozen projects currently in different stages of production, including a Bollywood offering from Aamir Khan.

While the rest of the cast is yet to be confirmed for Thalapathy 64, the team has confirmed that Anirudh Ravichander will compose its music, Sathyan Sooryan will crank the camera and Philomin Raj will take care of the editing.
