Marathi remake of Dulquer's 'Charlie' out: Does it capture the magic of the original?

Many Malayalam films have been remade but they haven't always been welcomed.

The teaser of Deva- Ek Atrangee, the Marathi remake of superhit Malayalam movie Charlie, which starred Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy released a few days ago.

The teaser looks quite faithful to the original film.

Charlie joins a long list of Malayalam films which have been remade in several languages. However, not all these remakes score with the audience. Comparisons are inevitable. The remakes of Premam and Bangalore Days, for example, which release in Telugu and Tamil respectively, were trolled badly by Kerala audiences.

However, even though there are a few negative comments from viewers, the trolls haven't descended upon the trailer as they did for some other films:

“Exactly why we shouldn't remake some movies Ruins the freshness we felt in Original#Charlie #DQ remains fresh”

“#Charlie Marathi Remake Teaser  Nashippich Kalanju (destroyed the movie)”

“Ohhh!!!

Remake of our Dulquer movie Charlie##

But in this Deva i doesn't understand, how much deep the actor understood about the charector?”

Charlie saw a different avatar of Dulquer, in which appeared in a completely new look. Costume designer Samaeera Saneesha was highly appreciated for her work in the film. Apart from the unique art work, it was also considered to be one of the best feel good movies to release in Malayalam.

The Marathi remake is directed by Murali Nallappa.  Ankush Chaudhari plays Dulquer's role and Tejaswini Pandit plays the female lead which was originally done by Parvathy.
