Tollywood actor Nani has been signed on to play a negative role for the first time in director Mohan Krishna Indraganti’s next film.

The actor took to Twitter to announce his role in the movie as he unveiled the first look for the film, which has been titled ‘V.’

“He introduced me as a Hero in my 1st film. Today he is all set to introduce me again in my 25th film. But this time ...It’s different ;) Your friendly neighbourhood …BAD ASS joins the party,” said the ‘Natural Star’.

Sudheer Babu will be playing the lead role along with Aditi Rao Hydari and Nivetha Thomas who also play important characters in the film.

Incidentally, Nani was introduced as a hero to the film industry by director Mohan Krishna in his film Ashta Chamma opposite Swati Reddy. The film received positive reviews and revolved around the heroine’s love for actor Mahesh Babu, and her adamant decision to only marry a man named Mahesh.

Nani and Mohan Krishna had worked together on the 2016 release Gentleman which co-starred Nivetha Thomas and Surabhi. The movie was met with positive reviews from critics and fans alike, with some critics appreciating the “subtle thriller” tones of the film.

The director has worked with all the four actors of the cast in his earlier films. Previously, he had directed Sammohanam which featured Sudheer Babu and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles. The film showed the love story between an actor and an illustrator who doesn’t like movies. Though the movie was met with only lukewarm reception, it did earn Aditi a Zee Cine Award (Telugu) for Best Debut (female). Sudheer also bagged Zee Cine’s ‘Entertainer of the Year’ Award for the film.

Nani, on the other hand, was last seen in the hit film Jersey opposite Shraddha Srinath.

V will be bankrolled by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations.
