The International Film Festival of India 2018 is currently underway in Goa. Notable names from the film fraternity have also graced the event for some quality films that are being screened. Speaking at this event was Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and the late actor Sridevi.

The father-daughter duo was answering a series of questions from the press and one was whether the young actor would act in Malayalam movies just like her mother did. To this, Jhanvi had said, “I have seen my mom’s Malayalam movies. She has acted so easily. I don’t know if I am capable to choose films as of now. My mom has acted in most of the Indian languages. What I have to say is never compare me with her.”

Boney Kapoor meanwhile, got emotional at the mention of Sridevi’s death and said that he is yet to come to terms with it.

Janhvi made her acting debut with the Bollywood film Dhadak earlier this year, which was a remake of Marathi film Sairaat. The was directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banners Dharma Productions and Zee Studios. It starred Ishaan Khatter as her lead pair.

It may be mentioned here that Sridevi, the legendary actor, had passed away in her hotel room in Dubai and the reason for her death was ascertained as drowning in the bathroom tub. She was a prolific actor and had worked in several film industries including Bollywood. Having begun her acting career at the age of four, she had acted in 300 films in various languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.

She has won prestigious awards in her career including the National Award for Best Actress, Filmfare Awards, Nandi Awards, Kerala State Film Award, and Tamil Nadu State Film Award.
