One more English news channel, this time from the Zee stable

Written by : TNM Staff
Adding to the clutter of news channels in the English news space, Zee Media Corporation Limited (ZMCL) has announced its intention to launch its own news channel.

Journalist Rohit Gandhi "will be heading the operations of all initiatives in this space, working closely with the Business Head & Revenue Resources," said a press release.

Gandhi will hold the position of the editor-in-chief and will be reporting to Puneet Goenka, MD and CEO of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited.

Gandhi has previously worked with CBC, CNN, BCTV & Global TV, Canada, and NDTV.

Zee is entering a market which already has established players like Times Now, NDTV, IBN, India Today and NewsX, and with all of them vying for the top rankings it will interesting to see how Zee's entry makes a difference. But for journalists, video journalists and many others in the English news space, one more employer is surely good news.
