Prithviraj and wife Supriya’s debut venture from their production house, Prithviraj Productions, went on the floors on April 9 and is reported to be progressing well. Though not much is known about the storyline or the genre of the film, which is titled Nine, sources in the know say that it is a horror and sci-fi film that has its lead star playing a scientist. However, those associated with the project are tight-lipped about it.
Prithviraj recently tweeted to let fans know that the Nine team had wrapped up the Kerala schedule and was heading to the foothills of the Himalayas: “And that’s a schedule wrap for #9 in Kerala. Headed for the foothills of the mighty Himalayas now! @PrithvirajProd @SonyPictures @9MovieOfficial.”

The film, which will also mark the entry of Sony Pictures into the Malayalam film industry, has Prithviraj playing the lead role while the rest of the star cast is yet to be revealed.
Written and directed by Jenuse Mohamed, Nine is bankrolled by Supriya Menon and SPE Films jointly. With the film’s production underway, it is expected that it will hit the silver screens later this year. As for Nine’s technical crew, Shaan Rahman has been roped in to compose the soundtrack while the BGM will be done by Sekhar Menon. Abinandhan Ramanujam and Shameer Muhammed will be working on the camera and editing respectively.
Apart from Nine, Prithviraj has a number of films lined up in different stages of production, including Kaaliyan, Aadujeevitham, Ranam, My Story and the untitled Anjali Menon directorial.
Prithviraj’s next film release is Ranam, which is gearing up for release on May 4. Directed by Nirmal Sahadev, the film has been bankrolled by Anand Payannur, and Rani and Lawson Biju under the banners Yes Cinema Production and Lawson Entertainment. Isha Talwar plays the female lead in this flick with Rahman featuring in a crucial role.
