PV Sindhu, the Hyderabadi badminton champ who won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics this year, slammed her way into people's hearts with her aggressive game and never-say-die attitude.
Now that she can afford to let her hair down a little, Sindhu has done a photo shoot with women's magazine JFW.
The athlete also spoke about her entry into badminton as an eight-year-old who picked up the racquet for fun, and then came under the guiding hand of coach Pullela Gopichand when she was 10.
She’s happy that the sacrifices she and Gopichand made paid off. "If you want something, you have to sacrifice something in life. And I got a medal for the country," says the disarming 21-year-old.
