Written by : TNM

Even as the Neruppu Da song from Rajinikanth’s Kabali continues to be the most heard chartbuster in recent times in Kollywood, filmmakers have begun to cash in on the song title, owing to the track’s wide popularity.

Actor Vikram Prabhu’s maiden production venture, which was officially launched on Wednesday, is titled Neruppu Da, and the makers had sought the permission of Kabali producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu to use the title. However, they claim their film is not titled Neruppu Da for the heck of it and apparently, there’s a valid reason.

Explaining the reason behind choosing the title, Vikram said that he plays a fireman and an ardent Rajinikanth fan in the film. Therefore, after much deliberation, they felt what could be a better title than Neruppu Da in this case. According to debutant director B Ashok Kumar, Neruppu Da, has a different take on fire service.

Also starring Nikki Galrani, the film will be produced under the banner of First Artist company.
