Rashmika Mandanna expresses wish to work with actor Vijay

The actor was responding to questions from the media about reports of her starring opposite Vijay in his next with director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Actor Rashmika Mandanna, who is basking in the great response to her recent outing, Dear Comrade, will begin shooting for her debut Tamil film with Karthi from August onwards. The film will be directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, who is known for helming the Sivakarthikeyan starrer Remo. Meanwhile, reports have emerged that she has also been signed opposite Vijay in his next film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. During the promotions of Dear Comrade, Rashmika was asked whether she has been signed for Vijay’s project and she said she just wished the rumours came true.

“People have been asking me if I’ve signed a film with Vijay. You know, I wish that these rumours come true. If I get an opportunity, I can’t wait to work with Vijay. Since everybody is asking me, I really wish I get to work with him,” she said in a recent media interaction and confirmed that she is in talks for a couple of Tamil projects.

Rashmika has earned a lot of praise for her performance in Dear Comrade, in which she plays a state-level cricketer who stops playing after being sexually harassed by the national level selector. Talking about the role, she said that she underwent cricket lessons for close to six months in preparation for the role which she has pulled off very convincingly.

Meanwhile, it has already been confirmed that Anirudh Ravichander has been signed to compose the music for Thalapathy 64. It is already rumoured that the yet-untitled thriller will feature Vijay in the role of a ruthless gangster. Tipped to be a very dark role for Vijay, the makers are yet to officially announce the rest of the cast and crew. Vijay currently awaits the release of the Atlee directorial, Bigil, in which he plays the coach of a women’s football team.
