Vijay Deverakonda’s Dear Comrade was scheduled for release on May 31, but now we have reports coming in that it will be out on June 6. The rescheduling of the release date was planned so that Dear Comrade doesn’t have to clash with Suriya’s NGK at the box office. With Dear Comrade set for release in Tamil as well, this seems to be a right move by the producer who are looking for solo release in the language. Besides Tamil and Telugu, Dear Comrade will release in Malayalam and Kannada as well.

Vijay Deverakonda will be playing a student leader with communist background in Dear Comrade while Rashmika Mandanna will be seen as a cricketer playing for Telangana state. She underwent special training hard at the cricket club in Hyderabad before the shoot began.

Directed by Bharat Kamma, Dear Comrade is reportedly inspired from the Mollywood movie Comrade in America. It had Dulquer Salman playing the lead role. Dear Comrade is being produced by Y. Naveen, Y. Ravi Shankar and C. V. Mohan under the banner Mythri Movie Makers.

On the other hand, NGK is a Selvaraghavan directorial. The film marks the first time corroboration of the duo and Selva, in an interview last year, revealed that he had plans to work with Suriya soon after Kadhal Kondein, and the dream has been finally fulfilled after a decade.

It stars Rakul Preet Singh and Sai Pallavi as heroines, and has Meera, Jagapathi Babu and Bala Singh playing the supporting roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the tunes for the film and Siva Kumar Vijayan is cranking the camera with Praveen KL in charge of the editing. A political drama, the film is being bankrolled by S. R. Prakashbabu and S. R. Prabhu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures. Reliance Entertainment has bagged the distribution rights of the film.
